I am looking to upgrade my airfilter. About a month or so ago I hit a dear with my Excursion on the front driverside. Well I did enough damage where I destroyed the battery tray/box on the driver side. While I am in there I was going to upgrade to either a Tymar or an AIS. Still deciding what to do. In my searching I did find this.... Riffraff Diesel: AFE Stage 2 Intake

It looks like it has the battery tray attached. I don't know of anyone besides the dealer that would sell the battery tray. The dealer sells the battery tray as part of the whole intake system! So I have to buy everything. If anyone has any recommendations or has a spare battery tray laying around please let me know.

Should be able to find a battery tray. Junkyard? If no one on here has one. The tymar filter you can get for around $40? shipped. Those other intakes look nice, but no one but me looks under my hood. I can use that $250 for those other intakes in better places.

You make a good point NevrKnow. I just spent the last hour researching more, looking at all the other intakes available, getting more confused on what to do. If I can't find a junk yard with a battery tray then I might have to go the other route and actually get an intake setup with a battery tray because I know damn well that I won't spend $470 for a whole new intake system from the dealer just for the battery tray! Thanks for the link dpantazis.

Just looked at that wiki page... what do you do with the temperature sensor once taking it out of the original air box?

Taped mine off to one side. However, you can drill a hole and put it in the end of the filter also.
