nice pics.
good to hear it went relativley painless.
curious about the bypass relay, for the parking brake. the uppfitter assemblies should be plug and play and if connected to the correct wire ( orange for SEIC and Lt green for BCP)the pcm should have picked up the the brake set signal. could you elaborate on what happened that caused that error, for future installs.
thanks

Thanks for the cudos Bush
Powerboater, to answer your comment. I noticed that in order to "appreaciate" the high idle feature the following criteria have to be met.
Foot off of brake pedal
"parking" brake set
Engine running
Transmission in park.
My little bypass setup negates the need to set the parking brake. I've wired a bypass that activates when the high idle is engaged.

Now, of course this should come with a disclaimer because if the truck were to slip into gear there would be no redundant braking system and some tin would probably get bent. .........just saying.

Bryan that must be a change in the 05's....My 04 doesnt require
the parking brake be set for the hi-idle to occur.

I understand now, you bypassed the parking brake, i thought maybe a wire was crossed.
you have your reasons for not setting the parking brake.

i to find it hard to beleive it would just jump into drive or reverse, it not like the late 70's LTD's :roflmao

"Up fitter switch #4 runs high idle and I also installed a bypass relay that simulates applying the parking brake when switch 4 is engaged so, put the truck in park, flip the switch and high idle. "

I got to know how you did it !!!!! Go slow I'm mentally challenged

Eddieo,
I'll try and get some pictures but essentially I wired a relay into the same upfitter wire that controls the high idle. This acts to close the ground on the park brake circuit simulating the same action as stepping on the park brake. The park brake sensor appears to be nothing more complicated than a contact switch that completes a circuit when the park brake pedal is depressed.
