Just in the process of reinstalling a rear diff housing in a 2005 350 Drw. I had to have new u bolts made up, as the originals were seized up. The u bolts i had made are 1/2 material instead of 5/8 material. Will this be strong enough, or should i order a new set? I cant use ford u-bolts because this truck has had 4 extra leafs installed, so factory bolts are too short. Any thoughts, and does anyone know the proper torque for the ubolts?

You should be able to get the proper size U-bolts at a spring shop. Use the 5/8" bolts! 1/2" bolts are not as strong and you don't want the rear end falling out on the road.

Its one of those things, it will be fixed right until the next piece breaks.
