I got up out of my chair today and turned the TV off. As soon as I touched the TV, I got a pretty painful static shock.

Immediately the TV started turning on and off in rapid succession.

The TV is a two year old Insignia 32" LCD.

Anyone have any ideas as to what might have happened and what it might take to fix it?

Geek Squad wants $150 just to come out and tell me that its broken.

Thanks

it's probably going to cost you as much to fix as it would be to get a new TV from WalMart...

X2. Almost anything Electronic is a One Shot Deal anymore.. You got 2 years out of it.. 1080p, LCDs are in the 3 to 500 dollar range these days.

150 to show up, *** to fix it, maybe even have to send it off somewhere, for who knows how long ?

Like JL sez: just get a New one from WalMart or whoever. Maybe even a Bigger One...:sly

I guess my first question would have to be " why the heck were you turning it off by hand and not with the remote?"
With that out of the way, I agree, probably better off buying a new one.

I was on my out to the garage and had to walk right past it.

I'm stuck watching the 60" until I can get a new LCD. I guess things could be worse.
