Turbocharger question

I recently purchased a 2014 F250 with the 6.7L about a month ago.

It has become considerably colder here where I live since that time. The truck has 104,000 miles on it.

I have noted when starting it to warm on the colder days, within moments of starting I can hear the turbocharger spooling up. If I start the truck with a warm engine under the same conditions I don't hear it like I do when the engine is cold. Is this normal?

Have had 2 cummins diesels and never experienced this. Once the engine is warm, I do not hear the turbo as I accelerate but do note it is working as indicated by the turbocharger indicator on the dash.

I'm wondering if the turbocharger will soon need to be replaced and if so how much something like that would cost.

Thanks!
