Come on guys! The results were proven! From the top of a mountain to the bottom of the hill it got better mileage with the sock than when it was going up the hill without the sock...!!!! I am curious as to what the justification is to claim improved anything performance.....

In certain engineered cases that sock will work, what it does is decrease the exhaust gas from cooling as much, which keeps its velocity up. Basically makes the turbo more efficient. The downside is it will wear out the turbo faster as that turbo will be running very hot!!!. Conventional oil will coke up on the bearings fast, synthetic would be a must. I would not do this mod as it has all the markings of decreased reliability.
