Turbo removal

I am removing the turbo in search of an oil leak and I have everything off or loose but I cannot get the incoming exhaust clamp to let go, any tricks? I just pried the one on the output off with a screwdriver.

Been about 3 years since we had the turbocharger assembly off but if I recall we hit the bolts with some penetrating oil then tapped it some with a hammer,then popped off.

You know about the three slots, prying there pops it off. (usually)

I sprayed it down and it came off with some taps. I know about the slots but I could not get anything in there to pry them out with. Anyway, it is out now. Thanks.

Like Mustang, Kenh a Reno sez... AND.... I'v used a product called: PB penatrateing catalyst (sic?), got it at WalMart... REALy good stuff. Spray it on (good) wait 30 minutes, done deal. Things come right off or loose.

I have some of that PB but only use it as a last resort since it smells horrible. I start with SeaFoam or WD-40 and those have worked everytime so far.

Yep, I do too. But when they fail (?).... out comes that SMELLY PB.

Keeps the wife away too . Ya know ? when yer up to yer elbows in pieces & parts.... and they want ya to look at something they just bought ?
