A few weeks ago I bought a new solenoid and that seemed to work fine. Today the truck won't start again. Battery is fully charged. When I try starting the truck, the solenoid 'clicks' but that's it. No sound from starter. Should I replace the solenoid again or could it be something else?

Try crossing out the solenoid with the key in the on position. If it starts, then probably the solenoid again. I would check the wiring connections before I replace parts.

Cannot start truck

Solenoid clicks....I think the battery is just low enough that it cannot turn over starter. The voltmeter reads 12.3 on both batteries. Is that too low?

Sounds good to me. Try having the batteries load tested. Did you try crossing out the solenoid?

ND-

do you have a chip on this truck? a known feature of some of the chips out there is no start if the batteries are marginally low voltage. i think that you are below the thresh old anyhow.

double check your grounds too.

Good info to know DP....don't think I would like that feature though. Just for refference, what is the threshold....12.5?

removing 3rd bolt of starter?

Trying to remove the starter and can't figure out how to access the 3rd bolt so I can take it to an auto parts store and have it tested. I have 2001 F250 7.3L SuperDuty. Suggestions?

Here's a silly suggestion, take the hardest bolt out first. The other 2 will be easier. :D
