It started doing this on really cold mornings then stoped when it warmed up this spring now it's happening again . When I first go out to start it in the morning the engine wants to lope really bad till i push the go pedel and tach it up for a few seconds . I'm thinking glow plugs ,I'vee tested glowplug relay all's good there. Anyone else had this problem?

What weight is your oil, some have found that thinner oil works to stop the romp.

Me, well I just tap on the fuel and it clears up. Truck starts right up even when really cold, so mine isnt the glow plugs. I figure mine just like to complain, so I just tap the fuel.

If it starts easy when cold and just likes to romp, then it isnt likley the glow plugs.

Try this, let it sit for 15 seconds after the "wait to start" light goes out and DO NOT start it. Then turn the key off and do it again, but at the end start the truck and see if this cures it.

Have your batteries load tested. If they are the factories you are due for new ones. Mine romped awhile last Sept, then in October it started to start then die, kept running on second fire. Napa checked the batts and I had one dead.

that's my other problem I go through batteries, every 6 I'm changing one out then 6 months later I've got to change the other one , I can't to find any shorts . only thing left to check would be the switch for extra back up lights. ( sorry for ramblin' on). yah a little tap seems to cure the rompin' thing . I'm using rotella 15/40

Did you say you are replacing one battery every 6 months? You have to replace both at the same time as one weak battery will pull a new one down that much quicker. Replace both next time and that problem may be solved.
