My 97 PSD Starts extremely hard at operating temp but when cold it starts right up and its been getting like 10MPG but once started it runs Idles drives great besides the bad fuel mileage Ford Dealer wants to charge 120$ just for the ""Diesel Specialist" to look at it:roflmao then they started naming off all these expensive parts goin wrong with it so if anybody could help me out the truck has 138000 miles on it and is very well taken care of and me being the DIY i am would like to fix it myself rather than wasting money.:sly

Sounds like your IPR needs new o-rings or foaming engine oil.

wut does it take to change IPR o-rings and wut would cause foaming engine oil?

Oil needs to be a known good oil, Rotella, Motorcraft, Delo etc.

If the oil level is low it can run like crap as well.

IPR o-rings aren't bad, just a little time consuming, unless you have TWO :)
