For the price of 8 gallons of fuel, around $68, I would have found a way of getting an extension cord out to the truck.

Bet it smoked alittle when you headed for home. At least we have outlets we can get to where I work. Most of the time mine stays at near 100 degrees with the heater plugged in all day but yesterday it read 72. We have had close to -20 with wind chills down to 50-60 below. Glad we didn't gell up.

yea I put another oil pan heater on mine keeps the oil temp at about 70degrees when plugged in at 20 below. We have been building powerline up by Detroit Lakes MN we just start the tucks in the morning and leave them run all day. The buckets are SOO SLOW in this weather because of the thick hydraulic oil. 8 gallons seems right according to my GPH gauge it burns about 1 GPH when high idling.

200 feet of cord would have had a pretty good voltage drop.. probably cooking the element, truck cord, or both..

cold weather returns tomorrow..

When it's 20 below, what are you putting in your fuel to keep it flowing? You running 50/50 mix.
