everyone knows that one of the downsides to the 08 trucks is that weird looking but supposedly functional tailpipe. i just couldnt stand looking at that discolored hunk of metal hanging out from behind my tire, so i busted out some 2000*F vht flat black header paint and went to town. i think it looks much better.

very nice, 'course bama wont like it but Jon I think you could be onto
something...a nice "black chrome" or black power coating on that tip
would look very nice.

i think you did a GREAT job...tip blends in nicely !

That does look much better Jon. Of course, they do have the new chrome editions out already. Chrome twins back there now.:thumbs

they have a polished system out from the factory, and then the small bolt on chrome tips.

i hate chrome on my vehicles. im trying to work out getting rid of all of it on my truck save for the fender vents, but wheels and amp steps are a costly add-on, which i dont want to do right now.

Jon I think you are on to something with the flat black paint. I think it looks good. Better then org, but I don't think I would go with the aftermarket chrome tips.

That looks pretty good. I don't like the chrome tips. Call it picky or anole, but I can't stand lookin at the pipes from the side and seein the original pipe with the slip-on tip over it. I think it looks kinda chincy, especially on a $50,000 truck. I do like your idea though. Keep up the creative ideas!

Yeah that looks good, but I like the polished tips from the factory. I think if I had one of those tips I would try to weld the diffuser part from the inside and grind down the weld on the out side to give it a real smooth apearance.
