What would be a normal trans temp on our trucks, everyday sort of drive not pulling or hauling anything. I thought I read somewhere it might be 100* plus the ambiet temp, Is that about right? Anyone with an aftermarket gauge know?
Thanks

thats a good rule of thumb BUT...on a 100* day you shouldnt see 200*
temps.

Im lucky if i top 150 for the most part...towing 6-8k lbs ive seen no
more than about 165*

I normally run about 110* empty and 125* towing 8000lbs. It's very rare that my temps ever go over 150* even in the summer heat. My transmission rebuilder told me to make sure I keep mine under 180* if I want it to last any length of time.

Mine sits at 150 or less unless I'm towing the 5th wheel, if its hot outside it may get to 165
