Transmission question is o3' same as 07'

I have a 03'f-250 6.0 4x4,137,000. my tranny is acting weird,no power uphill when taking off,it starts to slip only on take off. anyway my friend has a wrecking place and has a 07'f-250 6.0 4x4, 34k miles. will that tranny fit my truck. Do i have to change the ecu or anything like that. I think its cheaper than rebuilding my tranny.

Wasn't the 03's a 4R and the 05's and up 5R ? Not sure but would think programming would have to be changed .

yup and.... the 07 will have all the running changes,
if your real friendly with your dealer he can hook it up after all the work is done and make sure the ecm is updated with the new tranny.

but it should be a simple swap out and go,
