Okay, my F-350 diesel is at my local Ford dealer now getting an oil change, tire rotation, transmission drain and flush, etc.. Talked to the service guy who talked to one of the diesel guys about the tranny temps I encountered and was told those temps were normal for the newer diesels and not a cause for alarm. I also specified that I wanted the guy servicing the tranny to make a note as to how the tranny fluid looked when drained. More later on this.

When my trans temp hit 220 degrees my f350 gave off audible / visual alerts. I was on a 8% grade, in tow status, in the slow lane 40mph @ 2000 rpm. Couldn’t do anything else besides stopping. That was a little over a year ago. Just RV toured upstate NY, VT, NH and ME with no alarms. Just saying. Good luck happy travels.

My ‘18 F-350 diesel did not make any audible alarm, even at 239 dg. The only visual I got was the transmission temp gauge needle started displaying a digital temperature when it hit 212. No other messages or alarms.

Okay, my tranny fluid change, flush, etc., were completed today. The tech said the fluid looked good and no metal pieces in the pan, so I think all is well. [emoji846]
