I didn't do it
Gurus,
As you may have read in the thread:
http://www.superdutydiesel.com/foru...engine-drivetrain/10476-trans-temp-170-a.html
I have been experiencing some tranny issues (shifting and temps). I had been told that there was the possibility that my tranny was on its last leg and the torque converter was gone; however, I wanted to test the truck again to see if may have been a fluke that day or possibly some trash that had gotten past the filter somehow. I drove it about 60 miles the other day with the tranny getting up to about 190* and held steady. I have yet to put it on the surface streets in the heat of the day to see how it does in stop-and-go traffic. It was suggested I have the codes pulled and came up with the follow:
P0733 - Gear 3 ratio error
P0781 - 1-2 shift error
P0732 - Gear 2 ratio error
Additionally:
P1211 - ICP not controllable
I am hoping these were caused by heat due to high street temps/low speeds/mods/tire size and NOT the opposite. If this is a cooling issue, I am planning to mount in a remote tranny cooler with fan - however I would like some assistance with this. Below is a couple options I have found on Summit Racing:
