Thought I'd pass this along ?

This was the 30Amp plug, on a 4' Pigtail between the RV park Service box and a Surge Protector.

A truck hit a Power Pole... everything went Sparky.. the Surge Protector tripped, saving the guyz Rig*... but the service box receptacle, this plug-in's Neutral lug burned off, and about 18" of the pigtail melted.

If One doesn't have a Surge Protector.. Makes One think about getting One :dunno

*On Edit: They Did loose one TV and a coffee maker.

our surgeguard has saved out bacon a few times
for some reason in south texas at my sisters place the polarity gets reversed out of the blue when it rains hard
and my surgeguard locks out,
one that scares me is the open neutral, then click....power is off
