Synthetic is no more slippery then plain old Mercon or Mercon V. :dunno
Correct.
"Slippery" has nothing to do with the base oil. It's all on the additive package.

The difference between mineral and synthetic oils is; Synthetic oils have a uniform molecule size. With mineral oils, you might have one molecule that's eight "chains" long, the next one, three.

So think of the difference between corn oil and lumpy cake batter.

Ok finally got pan off today. Had been to wet to get to it. Magnet has some filing on it, no big pieces.
Here's pic pan off.

The stuff on side is from the outer case, fell in while getting it out.
Rag after wiping

Nothing big, but I am not sure if this is to much or about normal. I have put 50k + on this truck since bought. Fluid smells fine, a little dark, here is a pic of it on a white rag.

Overall looks good????
Have one other question, new filter has an orange gasket(??) around filter input. One I removed did not or didn't come off with it. Should I look around, I pulled the new one back off and the orange gasket stayed, should I pry it out and see if one is in there from the old filter
And do yall suggest flushing it or not?

The pan is a little muddy but not bad. Now to the filter. The orange seal is stuck in the pump. It's common for them to get stuck when you yank the filter off. To remove it I use a dental pick. You can use anything. After you remove the seal go ahead and install the new filter. ;tu

Flushing is ok if you are not using a machine.

Correct it is no more slippery but it has perfect molicules which are smooth rather than jagged in a conventional oil and that is why synthetic creates less friction which means lower running temps due to less friction as well as better wear properties due to less friction. :dunno

Ok, tranny filter changed. Took rear coolant line off attached hose to line. Crank truck, get some fluid in hose, but I have fluid running out of trans while running and none going into hose. Did I screw up something?:dunno or did I miss a step in flushing? I pulled the article from Wiki and also one from a post ( both same with little diff like drain TC) I refilled the trans through dipstick with 7 qt of ATF, then cranked. I don't see this going the way it is written, so did I miss something or do I need to plug the trans side of cooling lines?:dunno
I mean this reads to be real easy, do I have wrong line? It is the furtherest line, last line on Pass side of truck just in front of end of tranny? I have been over the procedure many many times. I am a novice with Auto trannys, but I am losing it here because it should be simple.

Put truck in gear and hold the brake you should get more flow out of it. I hope in your post you meant cooler line not coolant line.
