I'm a windows up person so I may have had this noise since new. (now at 30K) The last couple days I've been riding with the windows down and notice a driveline howl up to 40 mph. The pitch changes W/ the gears so I assume it's in the trans. Any others with the TS trans hear it???

How are you doing performance wise? Fuel MPG okay, or at least normal? Have you changed your tranny filter under the front bumper, checked the fluid? Any driveline clunk, or odd slop? Does it do it coasting, accel, deccel, all the time?

Mine makes a little noise in first and second on a slowdown, but under load it's not that much different than any other automatic in a low gear... they're all gonna whine some.

MPG is 15-16 (empty) & 11-12 (towing). Seems to be running normal. Fluid OK. No filter change yet. Happens on accel only. I have the standard CC driveline shutter on hard accel while towing.

Also, since new I had another issue http://www.superdutydiesel.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7542 Dealer looked at it around 25K and said there was nothing wrong. Funny, they said there was nothing wrong and that they did nothing to the driveline but the problem never happened again after that visit to the dealer.

My concern with this current noise and the above mentioned noise is my warranty is almost up. I'm thinking about paying the dealer rate for a fluid change just so I have a trans pro see the inards. If there is a problem in there, they can cover the cost.

I wonder if you had a run in with the loose or bad snap ring they had a "sorta" recall on...

If so... why wouldn't they tell me about it?? Where is it? Could it have caused more problems if it failed, or came off?
