OK, I have been reading and looking for an upgraded tranny cooler. I would love to get hold of the 6.0 cooler, but they seem to be becoming fewer and costlier. I also know that the V10 cooler in larger that the stock PSD. But it cost close to what I could have spent on the 6.0 cooler.

So, I was wondering about installing a second cooler in line with the other. Would this be OK? What should I look for in an aftermarket cooler?

Thanks for the help.

I installed a V-8/V-10 tranny cooler. Afterwards, I installed an AUXILLARY TRANNY cooler. I put the extra cooler in because I was doing a LOT of towing, in all sorts of weather, including very hot summertime temps. With both coolers, the average tranny temps were about 165, most I ever saw was 190 - 200 briefly.

As I was looking for the link for the cooler, I saw this vendor also has the V-8/ V-10 TRANNY COOLER.

On my truck I use a flex-a-lite trans cooler with elec fan along with the stock cooler. I also have an derale extra capacity transmission pan with cooling tubes in it as well. The flex-a-lite cooler w/fan works awesome the fan really helps to cool the fluid. That's what I would reccomend. My normal operating temps always seem to be under 125* winter or summer it doesn't seem to matter. The lower the trans temps the better!

Stacked plate, low pressure drop cooler. Stay away from the tube/fin type as they dont cool or flow as efficiently as the stacked plate design.:sweet
