Trans cooler questions

Ok...I've been searching through the forums on trans coolers and still have a few questions. I see that alot of folks are using the v10 coolers, why not use the cooler from the 6.0 as it is another 1/3 bigger than the v10's? Is the cooler from the 6.0 a direct (or close too) replacement like the v10 cooler? I just picked up a cooler from a 6.0 for 70 bucks from my local wrecking yard that came out of an 03, assuming he didnt have a serious tranny failure just a simple flush on this cooler and i should be good to go eh?

Still waiting on my damn pickup!!!! Is like pouring cold mollasses

even with bad tranny failure a good fluch should clean it out, unless it was a massive tranny failure and theres stuff cloging up the lines... but if ya can flush itand flow fluid though it you should be alright.....as far as a direct replacement im not 100%. id assume not only for the fact that i would tend to think people would have thought of it before. if its not a perfect match run 3/8 fuel line(high pressure) with 3 clams on each end and it should work.....

The stock 02 tranny cooler has a 3/8 inch line and the 6.0 has a 1/2 inch line.

It is an easy bolt in replacement for the 02 model.The bolt holes line up perfectly. All you have to do is reduce the line from 1/2 to 3/8.

I did the change last summer and what a difference. All you need is the reducer which you can buy at most auto parts stores and about 2 feet of 1/2 inch rubber tranny line.

6oh trans cooler works awesome. I was towing 22k+ gross today it was 96* today and my trans temp never went over 165. Im not even using the trans cooler in radiator, 6oh cooler only. with my 3.55 gears it takes a little fuel to get big loads rollin and temps just wont go up
