Help Needed tranny wont go into gear??

i was went to the dunes and pulled out a chevy that was stuck, i started to smell something burning or getting hot. my truck turned off by itself, i went to turn it on and put it in gear and it does not want to engauge into gear. every gear i put it on its like its in nutral. could the problem be the clutches in the tranny be burnt out:? or my tranny is a loss? 2002 f350.

I'm guessing this is an auto trans?

if it's doing noting in any gear then first check the trans fluid.

yah its an auto tranny. the fluid was fine when i checked it. tow truck just pick it up to take it to a shop. i hope it doesn't leave me broke.
