Ok well I guess this is a transmission problem. I am making my first long distance pull from Louisiana to California and about half way through I started to get some shift issues. Now, this is a hard pull. Mostly uphill in west Texas and New Mexico but still,, sometimes the tranny would get stuck in a lower gear and there was a wining noise, like a fan running, and it would not shift into the higher gear. Also, after a long pull I noticed I really had to juice it to get the truck moving from a stop. By the way, the fiver is just over thirteen thousand pounds. I am still under warrenty and three days from my destination.:hail

What truck do you have or trans ?

Mine did that same thing and ended up replacing the trans .I had to get someone else to tow my fiver back home.-mad

Sound to me like your tranny is running really hot! Like already said don't trust the factory tranny gauge most of them don't even start to move until the temps reach 200*F. I hope you get to your destination. Hate to say it but it sounds like your in need of some warranty transmission work.
