I just recently installed a Edge juice with attitude in my 00 F-250. Since I put it in when I floor it even in level one it seems like the tranny slips when trying to shift gears. Didn't do it before I installed the module. Dont know if that was normal or if my tranny is dying.

that's not entirely unheard of you're adding more power that'll make things slip.

you can add a shift kit that will help up the holding pressures on the transmission internals but be aware that the weak spot in a 4R100 is the torque converter and I'm guessing that's what you're feeling slip since it unlocks at every shift

Huh? the TCC doesn't even engage period until the truck is in 4th gear, load is below 18% and road speed is over 45 mph...

But yes, if you're making any kind of power at all, you're liable to be able to overpower the clutch pistons in the transmission. Also, non-"kitted" transmission take forever to apply the next set of hydraulics, so a shift kit will boost line pressure to make it more of a "snap" and hold them tighter.

But yes, I agree... the TCC in a stock convertor is a joke.. hit the "OD-cancel" button if you're hauling anything more than a couple bags of dog food

hmm the TC in my brother's early '99 locks in 3rd same as my E4OD in my '95, at the 3-4 shift unlocks briefly if not under load. Now ford may have changed the programming but if yours is not locking under any conditions in 3rd gear (1:1 or O/D locked out) then I think that you have a problem.

After re reading my post it is not entirely clear I did not mean to imply that the torque converter is locked prior to all shifts regardless of gear.

i just bought the truck in june and it had 175,000 on it. I checked the trans fluid right after i put the juice in and it wasn't burnt and was full. it has 178,000 on it now. I think I'm going to try the shift kit. If it blows then that gives me a good reason to build the trans up.
