Tranny Questions

I just purchased an edge platinum with juice, 4" turbo back exhaust, and bullydog intake for my F250 that i am about to install. It's previously unmodded and I was curious as to what kind of settings the stock tranny can safely handle and at what point i need to upgrade the tranny? Still planning on heads, turbo, and fuel pump mods down the line.

Sorry about that guys, was in a rush. It's an 05 with a 6.0 litre.

The torqshift transmissions are pretty darn durable for the stock 6.0. But I have had a truck come in with a bullydog programmer on it and it exploded the direct clutch in the trans. But I have a lot of customers with edge products programs on their trucks and they don't seem to have many engine or trans problems but that is pretty much their only mods. I know I didn't answer your question but they are durable but don't know when you go throwin that kind of power to them But I think you would be safe w/the programmer, intake, and exhaust. Anymore and you might need to start looking in to trans options

make sure youre performing proper maint. (trans by-pass filter changes & flushing) use ONLY MERCON SP
(no other MERCON is PERMITTED...*ONLY* SP)

if youre concerned w/ the expense of transmission replacement/repair (because of lack of warranty) my suggestion is that you avoid the MOD.

I would recomend a aftermarket tranny temp gauge to watch how hot it is.

My buddy w/ a bullydog forgot to turn off his chip when towing and fried his tranny when pulling a hill.
