Hi all. I am new here. I have a quick question for you all. I have an 03 7.3,4x4 automatic tranny. Today the truck would not shift into third. Not only would it not shift but the od light on the end of the shifting column was flashing off and on. I immediately pulled over and shut the truck down. I restarted and the light was not flashing until it tried to go into third again and it started flashing. The trans temp was normal and the fluid was where it should be and appeared to be a normal color. I did have the truck programmed with the hypertech on stage 2. I reflashed the computer back to stock and tried running it again but got the same problem. I did get a few dtc codes which I looked up. 2 of the three seemed to have nothing to do with tranny but the third I can not find what it means. It is code P1AEE. Is this a tranny code? Does this sound like I need a new tranny or did something electrical go wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
thanks
josh

First off, welcome to the site!! :) without looking up the code, it sounds to me like an electrical problem, but I am no tranny expert. There are a great bunch of guys here that can probably help you with this and any other problems. Good luck, and again, welcome to SDD

You have a problem, as shown by the flashing OD light. You will need to find a GOOD code reader to get the transmission code(s) to find out what is wrong with it. Try a good tranny shop. AND welcome to Super Duty Diesel, Bruiser

Possibly the speed sensor. I have had these problems in E series trucks. We also replaced the od button and works fine. You need to scan for codes first off because there are other parts that can cause this problem.
