Very easy to DIY. I installed a Prodigy on my cough1997GMCZ71cough which I traded in on the F250. Unfortunately, I left the controller in the truck. The F250 came with a controller but I have no idea if it's any good. I think the brand is Brake-Force.

I don't know how the Ford wiring harness is but my GMC had the hot wire and the brake wire already routed to the back of the truck. The were taped up on both ends but they were there. Unfortunately, Prodigy didn't have a plug and play harness for my truck so I had to hunt the brake wire and then feed a few wires to the fuse block.

Thanks for all the input so far guys. I currently have the scotch lok method but I"m thinking I"m gunna take it off and buy the T-connector. I did some research on a controller and I think I'm gunna use the prodigy controller

Where in N VA? If you would like some help drive west to the Front Royal area and i can help you. Also have a couple controlers i am not using ( replaced with a new one twice )
all i use are heat shrink waterproof connectors.
