I am new to the 6.0, what do you guys recommend as far as OCI, what kind of oil, and the like. maybe some modifications that will help longevity. It has an extended warranty on it so I cant really mess with too much, but I would like to hear your opinions, oh and I'm catching enough shiz for getting rid of the 7.3 from all my buddies, so please none of that.

Thanks for your input

Mike

5,000 miles for the oil change interval. I use Rotella T 5W-40 Syn oil. Truck runs very smooth and quiet with it.

Change oil in it every 5000 miles and drive the heck out of it. Put a 4 in ex turbo back and a good set of gages on it. Find a nice 5th wheel RV to take the family camping in, it can pull it just fine..LOL

It's a warranty sold through my credit union, Mercury Select Managemant Co, Inc. The verbage in contract says:

Any alterations or modifications have been made to your vehicle examples include, but are not limited to: any custom or add-on part; all frame or suspension modifications; lift kits; oversized tires; heavy duty trailer hitches; emissions and/or exhaust system modifications; engine modifications; engine over-revving; improper shifting.

Sounds like they own my truck and are letting me drive it while I make the payments, huh? I'm thinking about cancelling this POS.

Does any one know of a warranty company that allows minor mods to improve fuel effeciency, or improve power slightly?

I would love to hear their explanation of "heavy duty hitch" ????
