So I figure I'm going to pull my turbo to get a little more room to clearance the firewall for my downpipe. I figure if I have it off I might as well rebuild it, and maybe add a wheel as I do have some surging. I see some of the rebuild kits offer a "360 degree thrust bearing upgrade", but it looks like the stock Garrett rebuild kits do not show this upgrade. Any thoughts?

Lastly, it looks like I could easily upgrade the cold side wheel while I've got it apart to rebuild. Wow are there a lot of options when it comes to wheels. Any input on who's wheel really does what? Just trying to get what I want out of this list of bolt ons :)

Thanks

The stock wheel is perfectly fine.its actually an upgrade called " wicked wheel" for the 99-03 to get rid of surge.

A rebuild definately wont hurt.

While its off make sure you replace the up pipe donut gaskets.get donuts for a 70s small block chevy.part number can be found in the part numbers sticky.

While some believe the wicked wheel is plainly a stock obs wheel, it isn't.
The wicked wheel 2 is a upgrade though.
How'd it go?
