I hooked up and towed my trailer for the first time yesterday.

What is the tow haul learn procedure? It seamed that the trans did not want to up shift and just wound out in the lower gears.

Can anyone explain what I should expect and how long the learn period is?

Tow Haul should work just like reg shifting when you take off from a dead stop. Only thing is it stays in gear longer in tow/haul before it shifts to the next higher gear. How big a trailer was you pulling?

the TOW/HAUL on the TorqShift (5r110) also changes the
DOWN SHIFT strategy. It uses the EBPV (exhaust back
pressure valve) & EGR to provide some engine braking.

On acceleration (in T/H mode) my shift points are no less
than 2500rpm and depending on the load & how deep i have
my foot into the throttle ive seen 3000rpm shift points while
in T/H mode.

OK. That may be the factor as I did not have my foot in it and thus I was running below 2500 rpm waiting for it to up shift. There was not that much load on the truck because I was on level ground. Is there a way to cause up shift at a lower RPM since the load does not warrant that high an RPM. The retard did work as expected.

.

and the engine fan in serious STOP now situations
I learned this a few weeks ago when running about 50 and i had to panic stop
hold on nelly it engaged and sounded like a dc-10 under the hood, bump 2-1 shift,

but learning? drive with it on and hooked up. each trailer or load will cause it to tailor the upshifts, takes about (blink) that long for it to figure out the difference between 13k and 3500 lbs

if you need it to shift continue to give it some throttle or let off
of it and turn the tow/haul mode off.
