my baby is growing, so it was time to upgrade to her different seat. i installed the new seat today in the back seat of the truck and i am not very happy with the way it is fitting. if i could recline the rear seat i would be happy with the install, but i can`t. the problem is, the base of the toddler seat is about 4 inches away from the truck seat and i am having a hard time getting the tether strap tightened....any ideas? thanxs....

You probably wont get a flush fit but the way we get our seat tight is to actually get in it in one fashion or another. For instance, put your knee in the seat and put your weight on it while you pull the tether.

They make a little wedge shaped thing, designed to fill that gap, you can get them at Babies R Us. I plan on getting one soon, as our first should be arriving in the next week or two:D

Order the wedge thing listed above, until then you can roll up towels really tight to fill the gap. That way the seat will sit tight and move side to side.

Using the knee trick will get it tight enough not to move. No worries from there.

I LOVE the Mity-Tite. The big issue is movement or the car seat within the seat. The Mity-Tite will help tremendously. We have one in each car. I have a gap in the same area behind the seat, but the toddler seat is VERY secure.
