Here's a tough one for the class. Three DTC's (P-0122, 0603 & 1211). The only symptom is "surging". When trying to maintain steady speed, whether it's 15 or 70 mph, the truck engine lurches/surges unless I am advancing the throttle (depressing the accelerator pedal) or...here's the odd one....I have it on Cruise Control. There has been no loss of power. No rough idling or difficulty starting. I also use the SuperChips Max Tuner from time-to-time for this 7.3 ltr. When I have the program for "Performance" installed the "lurching/surging" is accentuated.
Another odd thing is when the engine is cold there are no issues. It's only after it's been driven 5-10 miles then the lurching/surging occurs.

I seem to remember feeling that occasionally when using the tuner on my 99.5. It came and went and I never figured out what it was.

Check All the connections under the hood ? You may have a temp sensor going bad (runs okay cold). also check the VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor) on top of the rear Dif., it may be dirty with metal grit.. from normal wear and sending bogus data to the ECM.

I just uncovered another interesting piece of this mystery puzzle. All of the lurching/ surging is eliminated as long as I have the truck on "cruise control".
