I have a 4" straight pipe and a 6" tip. I am able to set off car alarms very easily. One of my fraternity brothers has his alarm's sensitivity turned all the way down. There are only three ways to set off his alarm: 1) open the door, 2) Smack the hood right above his siren, 3) Rev my truck. Jumping up and down on the bumpers or in the bed of his truck will not set it off. Just cruizing around town at about 1500 rpms it whistles really good. Anything more and there is a lot of flutter in the exhaust. Work the engine hard (accelerate, tow, etc) and it sounds really good, but really loud.

For me strait is the way to go. I am running 4" downpipe 5" exhaust 6" tip No cat or muffler and I do not have any complaints. Cruising down the highway I hear my tires humming and turbo wistle from under the hood. I get on it then I hear the exhaust and the kids in the civic next to me caughing from the black smoke as I go bye. I love it and would do it again it a heart beat. it is the best of both worlds. Loud as hell at WOT and nice deep tone at idle and cruising.
