This guy wants me to help him clear a 40 acere stand of old Walnut trees after next season, useing "Old Bob" (thats what his Dad named it) I just may take him up on it.

He has a Old.. Cat D-8, been set'n for a couple years. Wanted to move it but couldn't remember the 1 2 3's to start it.. with it's "Pony Motor"

Kind of an Inside deal. We had quite a few Pony Motor Cats when I was in Antarctica, YEARS Ago (60s/70s). Some of them are still there and Mike K was there last season.... as a Mech, So I'm SURE he knows.. ALL about'm.

Put a little heat on the Main Engine Block, Final Drives'n Steering clutches'n go to work.

They all had turbo's, cuz they used;m to Traverse to the South Pole (Altitude issues)

I remember going to the cabin with my dad and grandad in the winter to spend the night. Get the old pot belly stove going, turn off the coleman lattern and get under the covers and listen to the "The Shadow" radio program before going to sleep.

Big Joe, that was later on... Before tv, we had Mystery Theater, Amos& Andy all on radio. For years my grandmother would wash her clothes in a big metal barrel and scrub them on a scrub board..way before she got her first electric washing machine complete with wringers. For you youngins, a scrub board is a metal board with ripples on it and the ladies would rub the clothes up and down the board until clean... All by "HAND"...The board was placed in the tub of water to rinse after cleaning.
Now days, people think they have it tough if their batteries run low.

Of course my grandmother who came from Kansas to California in a covered wagon, said we all had it easy growing up, and compared to her, yes we did.
