I have the truck in my sig, but something is wrong with the engine( two flywheels, two transmissions later and now i have a very horrible sound from the engine at idle but when idled up it sounds fine-somethings very wrong) , its been down for a year cause the possible cost exceed what i could put in to it at the time but im at a cross roads, its 1300 to r&r the engine alone, plus more to fix it, my brother found a 03 f250 4x4 crew swb for 3100.00 with 130k on it and runs perfect , so do i buy the other one, take two to make one or just fix mine?
advice greatly ap[preciated:hail:hail:hail

My uncle was in the same situation with his 99 F250. It started out pouring out white smoke every now and then. Then he left for 2 weeks for travel, leaving the truck behind. When he came back he started it up and you could here...what sounded like, a valve stuck open. He parked it for 2 months dreading how much it would cost. Last weekend he took the valve covers off, and laying right there on top was half of a push rod. 8hrs of labor and $16 (parts+shipping) later he had it back to sounding right. Now he just has to replace the gasket on the #3 injector.
