Well, the role my truck plays now is a glorified shop truck. I take the kids to school in it, pick them up sometimes, go to the bank, go get parts if needed, and so on and so on.

I dont pull a trailer anymore.

Well, its not gonna happen. The valve covers dont need to come off since all the injectors are fine.

I was looking at the engine the other day, and I really dont think you would see much of the chrome anyways.

So Bama, what was wrong with the truck?

Still dont know for sure. the FICM, ICP sensor, and inj. are OK.

couple of other sensors throw codes sometimes and then sometimes they dont.

The tech can start it up one minute and it will throttle up and run fine. other times it will only idle and then die when you press the accel. sometimes it wont start up to idle at all.

dang confusing:confused: :dunno

I have seen the pins in the main ICP harness push back into the connector. When you unplug the connector for a visual the pin pulls out and looks normal. When you plug the connector back in it pushes the pin in and makes little if no contact. This will cause intermittent fault codes and major driveability issues. Your tech might have already checked it but it's worth a shot. Did you have a plug in box of anykind on it before the failure? Thats when most pins get damaged but it could be a factory issue as well.

There is powder coating out now that looks just like chrome. You can have the entire engine coated and chrome anything that doesn't get away from you.:thumbs
