Ok guys, I have a 4" lift on my '07. Currently on factory (20's x 8.5?) and looking to up my tire size. Looking for a 35x12.50. Pretty sure I'm going with the Procomp Xtrme A/T. Debating putting them on my factory wheels. what do you guys think? Will the tires be to wide for the factory wheels? will I have any rubbing? If I go aftermarket wheels, I want a 20x10. What kind of back spacing will I need? Thanks in advance.

I spent about 4 months on this before I made a purchase. For any wheel that you buy with an 8 on 170 bolt pattern, it will have the correct backspacing being that there is only one type of vehicle that I know of that it would go on. That is something that you shouldn't worry about. As far as the width, a 35/12.50 should go on about a nine to eleven inch wheel depending on the diameter. For a 20" wheel you'd probably want closer to eleven inches. Most wheels will only offer one width for the diameter anyway and that's probably the best one. If your wheel is not wide enough your tread will not be flat and result in faster wear in the center of the tread. Besides that, it is somewhat unsafe and your truck will look like it is riding on balloons. That could lead to rubbing as well since the sidewalls will be sticking out more than it should. The meaty tread could also cause a little rubbing too. Go to an offroad shop and ask questions and see what they recommend. Make sure you act like you are going to buy from them so that they give you a bunch of information. Its good idea to get price quotes because there is a chance they could get you a better price than online anyway.

A 10" wide wheel's offset is going to make for a very wide stance. My 08 I think looks goofy with a 9.5" wheel and a 33x13-18 on it. I had an 06 truck with 35x12.50-18 BFG Mud Terrains on 18x9 wheels it and personally I felt it was the perfect setup. It didn't stick out too far, but it had an aggressive stance.

Just my $0.02

i think mine look alright they are 20x8.5 with a 33x12.5 they don't ballon. One of my subs has 35x12.5 on his 07 and i think it looks good and don't see much balloning he also has the factory 20''

Backspace DOES make a difference, even though all SD's 99-07 have the same lug pattern the 05 and up trucks require a different backspacing. I don't recall the exact but I think it's 4.5 inches, someone else I'm sure will know for certain. You can easily run a wider and larger tire on your wheels without fear of uneven treadware, uneven tread wear has more to do with having the proper air pressure than anything, if it wears more on the edges, to little pressure, if the tire wears more in the middle to much air pressure.

I have 9" wide wheels, and 14.5" wide tires, have had them for over a year, with no problems, and they wear evenly. It just depends on the look you want and like.

99-04 trucks need 4.5 inches of backspacing, 05-08 need 5 inches of backspacing. I am running 16x10 inch wheels on my 35's and they are just right for a 12.5 inch wide tire. I have about 4 inches of backspacing on my rims cause i like the deep dish look of them. But fixing to change over to 20x10 rims cause i'm changing to 550 knuckles so i can get 15 inch rotors. :D

thanks for the replies guys. I checked in on the 35x12.50 Procomp Xtrme ATs and they call for a 8.5"-11" rim. I think when i'm ready I will get them mounted on my factory 20's, and see how that looks/works. If need be I will get wider wheels at that time. I used to have 15x10 wheels with 35x12.50 M/T's on my 4runner... that was a very nice looking wheel/tire combo. But I knew guys that ran the same on 8" wheels. but with a lower profile set up like 20's... I figure it will be more noticable which way you go.

Rustinh1- how do you like your ATZ's? That was my other option. I guess now the real question is which tire! ATZ's or Xtreme AT's.

I have really been eyeing the xtreme at's they are like a tire that's better than an all terrain but not as good as a mud terrain. Really like the tread depth on them also plus they have lots of siping for wet road driving. That 40k mile warrenty aint nothing to shake a stick at either.

I love my Xtreme AT's and like big rooster said, the 40k mile warranty is pretty nice, and also uncommon on large AT tires.

Im running 325-65 r18 or 35x13.00r18 on the stock 18x8 steel wheel with no problems. I had 18x9 rims with 4.5" back spacing but thay rubed the rear of the fender and in my opinion stuck out to far. If I had a 4" lift thay would have cleared but on the stock wheels thay fit perfect with only the 2 1/2" leveling kit.
