Hey guys I was just wondering what the biggest tire size y'all are running on stock suspension is. I have an 01 with 16" wheels. I have talked to alot of guys locally who have told me 315's will fit as long as I trim the plastic piece under the front bumper. I have 285's now that are almost completely worn out. I plan on raising the front 2.5" but I kinda need tires now and don't have the money for the lift right now. Will I be able to run the 315's for the time being until I can afford the lift? Don't really want to spend the money on tires that I don't really want if I can get away with it. Thanks in advance.

315/70's and 285/75's are the same OD.. and just about all you can horn in under one of these unless the suspension is modified

285/75/16's are around 33 inches depending on make. 315/70/16's are around the same. 315/75/16's are about 35 inches. Your stock suspension should have enough clearance to clear 315/70's. I reccomend a 10 inch wide rim for the 315's rather then the stock 8 inchers. I installed a 6 inch lift with 36's (36.5 inches) on my truck (02 F350) and had to trim the front valance at the front corners because the tires hit while turning.

I roll 315/75/16 on mine with no suspension modifications. Stock rims as well. If you are going to be doing a lot of offroading where your suspension will flex a lot it will mess you up. For everyday driving and mild situations they fit fine for me.

No off roading for the truck. That's what I use my Jeeps for. Just wanting the 315's for looks mostly although there is the occasional encounter with a little mud but nothing serious. Thanks for all the input guys.:sweet

315/70R16 is not the same size as 285/75R16. A 305/70R16 is the same as a 285/75R16. They are both 33" in diameter and the 305 is 12.5" wide rather than 11.5". The 315 is a 35" tall tire. They may fit after the front leveling kit is installed but i doubt they will before and if they do I bet they rub like hell.

My mistake you are correct 01SMOKINSD a 315/70/16 is not the same size as a 285/75/16. A 305/70 is. I had 33 inch tires on my truck when is was stock (02 F350) and they did not hit or rub anywhere however they were only 10.5 inches wide. They were mounted on stock wheels.
