Question Tire size

I have to get new tires for the 08. It has OEM rims and 275/75/R18 Everybody is telling me I can not go any wider or taller on the tires with OEM rims.
So who is running what on OEM rims??

I see so many stocks fords and dodges runnin 12.5" wide tires on stock rims. I also had a 2003 f350 dually and had 35x12.5x16 tires on the stock aluminum rims. Them rims are like 6.5" wide or something?? Yours are probably closer to 8-8.5 ish.

Apples to oranges but my brother has 33-12.5-18 Toyo MTs on his 06 F150 stock rims and they are only 7.5". They looked perfect on there. Slight rub on full lock but not bad at all. He is stock height, no level or lift.

My 04 had 35/12.5/16.5 but not stock rims. Just trying to get some other ideas.

On my 05 F350, I went from the 275s to BFG ATs 305/65/18s.. Same height just a touch wider... Stock wheels..
