I have 4 brand new 245/16 E load range tires and rims from my old truck a dodge 2500 diesel. The ford has 265's , can I use at least the 245s on my F-350. Or do I have to have the transmission reprogrammed or something to accept these tires?:thanks

You should be able to run the 245's without any re-programming. They are close enough in size.

I wouldn't...

I mean, you could if you HAD to, but the 245, beside being almost a full inch shorter than the 265 (affecting the speedomoeter), also lacks the capability to carry as much load as the 265...

What's the exact tire size? xxx/xx/xx

Go here, plug in your oem size, and the new tire size. Then, by the magic of Java Technology, the calculator will give you a nice graphical representation of what your tire size difference is, as well as revolutions per mile, speedometer offset, the works.

I know, the link is to a Mazda Miata site, but you'll just have to grin and bear it, and don't tell anyone you used it.
