Time for tires again.....

Like it says its time for new shoes on the dually. Lookin for a good bitin all terrain. have general grabber AT2's now and they bite good but tread doesnt like the front end on the dually wearing weird, all tire shops say its the nature of the ford dually. Any recomendations? what ya like or dont like. I hate lookin for tires. om always afraid im going to drop $1000+ on tires and not like em.

Boy do I know this feeling.( I hate looking for tires. om always afraid im going to drop $1000+ on tires and not like em. ) Talking to a guy I know and he showed me his BF Goodrich tires on his Chevy 4 X 4, ware out at 12,000 miles. He took them back to the dealer where he had bought them and he said no way should they be worn out, so the dealer puts 4 new one on and no charge. Good luck getting the right ones.

How often are you rotating your tires or are you??? My company truck I rotate every 10 to 14K and I just replaced them last month. But I got 130K out of them. Try to find something with a harder rubber.

unfortunatly i only get em rotated bout once in the life of the tires, kinda sucks ya gota have em dismounted off the rim and remounted on a dually. i guess if ya had like new rims you could just flip em around haha

I asked a friend who has a dually and he does what Dogman recommends. Never re-mounted his tires unless they needed to be replaced.

i see what ya mean, but i have aluminum rims and the insides were never taken care of from before i had it, and i would have to flip em to rotate unless i just keep teh fronts on the front and i dout they can be cleaned enough to look descent, and the inside rears are steel wheels.

he's got Alcoa wheels.. front are shiny ON the dish, rears shiny IN the dish.. to do it properly, you need to dismount them..

when you need to do in that case is go steer/drive, like a semi, and forget the rotation all together.. except for the occasional side to side front swap to even out the wear.

or sell those Alcoa's on craigslist and get four more steelies and some hubcaps..

What JLD sez is what I'v Allwayz dun. LF to RF swap. LR to RR pair Swap. Then when I think it's time... The fronts go on the steelies.. do the swap thing acouple'a more times.. 'til tire buying time ?
