When In Doubt,THROTTLE ON
So for us guys in the north country what happens when it freezes? From what I have read the solution freezes at 11 degrees. Makes it useless for 3 to four months up here.
is it too early for a bs flag?? what will they do next
so we become the feeder of machines, they will need our bodies for thier own survival,
sound like any movies we have seen over the last 12 years?????????
the DEF Exhaust cocktail which contained ammonia gets REACTED by the catalyst to become NITROGEN and WATER. Consider that the atmosphere is 78% nitrogen gas already.
here is a decent read on the system and its components-

yes, the DEF can freeze at 11F. and diesel clouds at 40F and will be gelled if you don't protect it. these engines are designed to be started at these temperatures and already have fuel heaters and the like. the DEF systems probably already take that into account.
The MB Bluetec system was the first commercial one. It works fine and the owners of those cars are happy with the system.
i don't think that this is going to get worked around. its WAY too complicated a system.

the thing that gets me is that you diesel only truck only guys bitch and moan when the diesel car guys are dealing with stuff 3-5 years ahead of you. open you minds and accept the future. deal with it. sitting around and complaining about it makes us look stupid. VW had an EGR system in 1999, 5 years before any trucks did. we dealt with it. instead of disabling it, we figured out how to live with it.
all the guys who do the CCV mod that essentially dumps the oil into the air and on the road say how great it is. but would dump motor oil into the drain or on the ground where your kids play?
