I feel your pain in the last ten years I've had two entire systems stolen (remember I live in New Jersey). In my experiance Everything I own now has full viper alarms and tinted windows. The theves will steal whatever is easy to get to.

Bush,

:sorry
I know how you feel. Remember I got popped in December, and my head unit wasn't worth $40!!! But, they did damage the door.-mad
Did you have the Jimmi Jammers by chance?

no, DIDNT have the jimmi jammers...as pro as i am FOR them...
in THIS particular case the jammers wouldnt have stopped 'em...
the jambed a screwdriver in the key hole and FORCED the lock to turn
(from what i can tell)

they didnt PRY the door handle/latch out (like they typically do)...
theres NO damage to my door...and although my key fits in the
lock it wont turn the tumbler

ive had the door handle out & disabled the lock completely...now
they WILL have to pry the handle out ('til i have the jimmi jambers
mounted (on all doors) tomorrow evening.

Me and the wife where at Willowbrook Dillards/Macy's for the whole bit; about 2 to 4 yesterday. Parked in one of my usual "protected" spaces and three little cars boxed me in. Thought I was going to have to push a couple out of the way so we could leave.

I NOW have the jammers installed, but I am still taking my removable face-plate on the new unit with me, every time. It's a pain, but like Buffs said, if they can't see it, my hope is they won't try and steal it.-mad

And, as I'm sure you are learning, it's not the actual loss of the stereo that's such a pain. It' all the work afterwards: disabling all of the locks, putting in an alarm, installing Jimmi Jammers, AND replacing the stereo. All so the little b*stards can get another rock for their pipe.:cussing:

Brings back memories of Oct '06 when our Excursion got hit in the Costco lot:rolleyes:

We now have the stock CD6 in pretty much for good now.

Seems like you guys in Texas are getting hit a lot. I thought the crime capitol was Southern California. I read where the new wave of thefts is that scum bags buy or steal battery powered sawzalls, and go under 4x4 vehicles (PSD'S) and saw off the cat... then sell the cat for the minerals at the scrap yard. They are getting $40 to $60 for them.
Again, make stronger laws, then find a judge with some common sense and enforce the new tougher law. Here in Kalifornia, this state is full of wacko judges.
Remember a Judge is an ex lawyer...

well they cant get my cat...and i dont know WHO would
buy the cat for its minerals...its pretty much worthless w/
out the proper federally required paper work.

no cat can be removed, sold, installed w/out the serial number
tracking and paper work filled out...some business is setting themselves
up for a BUNCH of issues w/ the feds !

even if a cat is DEAD/PLUGGED you still have to tie the original paper
work to it & it has a HELL of a paper trail...you have to prove a new
one went BACK on that car/truck...

Paper said that they are melting down the cat for the metals.
I just got off the phone with our local scrap yard, and I asked them what was the procedure for bringing in a cat, and they said that there is no procedure, just bring one in and they will pay us for it. So maybe, there are different rules for different states. This will make it easy for the bad guys.
