Biodiesel Rules!
Sounds good but I have had second thoughts about wind farms. I saw one built on the NE CO border, impressive sight but ruined the landscape. In addition, they fence the entire sight off and do not allow access and eliminate hunting. I guess some dumb .. somewhere must have taken to shooting the props. It may be part of the answer but then so is the under water currents of the ocean. They can turn a turbine as well and are out of sight.
We need options, biofuels, natural gas oil all combined we will be ok.

I've driven by two in California one in Palm Springs and one at the Altamont Pass
which is east of San Francisco but they are very small compared to the Pickens Plan and of 80's technology too.

I have been studying for a while what I can do to offset my fuel costs. I thought Solar, but the buy in is like $10 a KW. I thought Wind Turbines, heck you can make one yourself, but to put it up where it needs to be on a tower the price starts at $27,000 and goes up from there. I used to think people who talked about "bio diesel" were nuts. I guess it is true, you live and learn and die and forget it all. I will have my homebrew processer up and running in a little while!

At least he has a plan, the politicians don't. we need all forms availible to us: wind, geothermal, solar, nuclear, coal, natural gas, biofuels, etc. Also we need more efficient vehicles, state of the art mass transportation and updated power grid system through out the country.
If we can get the public to put aside the NIMBY and BANANA (build absolutely nothing anywhere near anything) maybe, just maybe this country can take the global lead in becoming energy independent. It will not happen in a decade, or even during our lifetime. But, gradually with our universities, brainpower, ambition, drive, and vision, we could change the world for the better.
