Finally, we've been getting some much needed rain in the high desert plains. Its been raining for 24 hours straight now. We had a very very mild winter and did not get even close to our average snow fall amount. It was looking bleak but this little boost of precip will definetly help the situation out tremendously. Hopefully it will push off the fire season until much later in the year now. It will also give relief to the ranchers and wildlife.:thumbs

Don't even mention the word FIRE. We had enough smoke up here last year to last us a long time. I can still smell it from time to time. It seemed like the whole state was on fire. We have had a few thunder showers over the last few weeks but I haven't heard of any big fires....yet.

Yup, we get our fair share of wild land fires here, especially later in the year when the grass gets crispy dry and we get afternoon lightning in the high elevations. Its a recipie for disaster here.
