Bama, I may sound like a Monday morning quarter back to you since you already got a new toilet, but I have seen on some toilet models the rubber gasket between the tank and bowl breaks down and looses the seal. Was water coming from high or low on the toilet? Sometimes the rubber washers leak from the water supply. I see it all the time.

Bama;

On a serious note, as you get older you might want to consider purchasing a taller toilet. Leg, hip, back problems, the taller toilet helps out. If you have two or three bathrooms, and you are going to keep your house forever, might be wise to purchase a tall one for your bathroom off your bedroom.
I never thought about it until I got old. Also consider easy access to the shower. Right now, it is not important to you, but trust me later on it will be.

Heck, the taller thrones are more comfortable even if you're healthy. I'm 6'2" and standard-height crappers aren't nearly as nice to sit on as the taller ones.

Maggie laughs at me, but if/when we can build our dream house, the man's bathroom is going to have fixtures like what they use in prison. I have never been in prison/jail as a "guest" of the judicial system but when I was in the AF I did some prisoner escort duty and on occasion had need to use the fixtures that the prisoners would use. I swear you could flush a basketball down those things since the suction was so strong and if you were seated whilst flushing, the last meal you ate would be sucked out of your GI tract before it got digested.:eek:

Bama since the water is coming out low it probably is cracked and you did right by buying a new toilet.

There are air assisted flush toilets out there. When you flush one of those the whole lid rattles, but they are still 1.6 gallon flush. IMO the industry should never have gotten rid of the 3 gallon flush toilets. Here in Michigan the plumbing is put in basiclly with no thought of potential problems. I have been returning to a bunch of new houses because of continous back-ups. I have tevelised the line and each time find a very nice brand new pvc line. The toilets cannot move the material especially with 2 or 3 90 degree bends.

Stephen, you didn't get one of these did you??

Electric toilet

could be a real crapper if you did :roflmao

We had those when I was in Antacrtica. The 1 in on Heavy Shop screwed up and burned the building down. It didn't tkae long for the burn crapper to ignite years of oil, gas, and diesel soaked wood flooring to go up in smoke. Keith
