homemade mouse trap...take a 5 gallon pale or little smaller, fill about one third full of water. than take a piece of small steal rod, about one eighth in diameter, feed it through a pop or beer can(your choice) and set on top of wheel so the can spin on the rod. then take some peanut butter or somesort of food and put it on the can. next take a piece of 1x2 about 2 feet long and have it so the mice can walk up the wood to top of pail, then they will try to get to the food on the can and then the can will spin and the little critters will fall in the water and they will have no where to go. just make sure you check daily, can get a bit stinky....hope this helps.....

I was going to suggest something almost like that, only slightly different in design. Instead of using a can, I made a teeter-totter that was just a smidge shorter than the width of the inside of the bucket. When the teeter-totter was balanced, I placed a small dab of peanut butter right in the middle so that when a mouse stepped on the TT to walk across to the peanut butter, it tipped and dumped them in the water where they drowned.

Mice love peanut butter. What ever you do, make sure you can retrieve the little suckers, or your going to get a very bad smell under your house. I had a ranch, and used the anti-freeze, and most of them came out from under the house and died. You have to watch out if you have a cat, because if they eat the poisoned mouse, it will kill the cat.

yeah the smell can be something. buddy uses this set up at his cottage and sometimes doesn`t go up for 3 to 4 weeks. when he gets there, usually quite a few floating critters. i had to empty the pail once or twice...

When I store a couple of my vechiles in the winter I use slivers of irish spring soap. (the original) The little buggers hate the smell of it and will leave right away.

had one the last time that got its front arm stuck in a trap.he was hopping around in the duct with the trap still attached to him.took 3 days to finaly find it still alive.

well i dont have a cat, hate cats and my nieghbors all have cats that they let roam the trailer park.caught them many times on my vehicles.all my vehicles are scratched up because of them so killing a few cats at the same time aint an issue:cussing: :cussing:
