your hurting my brain
Now i have to go dig out my electronics book on formulas
Resistance Values:
Nominal resistance values in ohms are identified by four digits. The first three digits represent significant figures; the last digit specifies the number of zeroes to follow.
ex.: 9881= 9,880 ohms
1006 = 100,000,000 ohms

The resistance value selected must be within the standard resistance range listed above for the specified style.

yep your right on now

IM BACKWARDS!!!!!

6042 is close tolerance code for 60.4k (60,400 ohms).

That means they are INCREASING the resistance, not lowering it! Interesting.....

Thanks for the catch!

is there anything else you guys need to know while i have one apart?i got the resitor off mine and if i could find my solder id have the wires on it and ready for the new resistors when i get them tonight or tomorrow.

also what kind of digi cam are you using?i cant get a decent picture of the board with mine.its about 4 years old so i think its time for a new one :thanks

Sony F717 with MACRO turned on for closeups. Most cameras have a setting for that, usually used in taking pics of flowers close up. Mine is pretty banged up, actually, its really banged up and Im suprised it still works at ALL!

OK, so I just got an email that says there are 3 different IDMs, and lists a different resistor for them. The difference is on the sticker on the IDM on the connector housing.

IDM-100 can use a 7502 resistor to get 135v
IDM-110 is the same as IDM-100
IDM-120 is supposed to use a 7322 resistor and only gets you 131v

still waiting on more info, as the IDM i have is a 120, with a 7502 which is supposed to be a no no.
