well, i stopped my dealer while all the techs were on their lunch break, thinkin i might get one of my buddies to come out and look over it for me.

he told me to pull on around back and he would pressure test it right quick for me.

Ya'll are gonna love this and hate me for the panic i caused myself.


The stinking degaus bottle has a crack on the underside, pouring like a fountain.

it never occured to me to check that part out, i just assumed the worst.

they didnt have one in stock, so it will be in here tomorrow.

i'll take a 66.00 part over a couple of grand for a head gasket jog anyday.

BTW, the new 2008 tailgates will fit. i took some measurements while i was there.

the only draw back is the cost.

the tailgate carcus alone is 255.00

the intergrated step assembly is 455.00

the old man handle is 100.00

i think i will be checking the salvage yards first. if i cant find the tailgate with the step, i will at least get the 2008 tailgate without the step. its looks much better to me anyways.

for the cost of that tail gate i think id graft a 92-97 tailgate on there instead.it would probably be much cheaper to do

the price on that intergrated tailgate is a joke. but i do plan on ordering the non-step tailgate. its only about 30 to 40 dollars more than the one for my year truck.

i think i'll save my money for something else, those powerscope mirrors are nice, but i need to be content with the ones i have, which are still very nice.

and i didnt do no crying roy
