My friend and I went on a motorcycle ride yesterday and sure enough some young punk in a crappy old p.o.s. truck crossed seven lanes of traffic, yes I said seven lanes of traffic and take out my buddy on his bike. Lucky for him we had just pulled out of a local watering hole so we weren't going that fast, about 30MPH. I was in the lead and caught the guy in my peripheral vision coming basically right at me. I knew I was going to be okay but I knew my buddy behind me was in trouble. I turned around in time to see the truck go inches in front of him and him lay the bike down. Now the good part. The guy never stopped!!!! I whipped a U-turn faster than I ever have before. I saw people already running from the bar so I proceeded to chase the kid in the truck down. I did catch him and got him back to the scene. The kid's father tried to start a fight with me once we got back to the scene of the accident!!!! (kid went to his house) Of course the only reason he was starting crap with me was there was a cop right there. I was so pumped up I almost took the guy to the cleaners anyway. I think I was double his size and in alot better shape.
My buddy was alright (thank god) and the bike is not to bad, still rideable and the kid came back to the scene. I guess all ends okay. I just couldn't believe he crossed 7 lanes of traffic!!!!!

How old was this kid and what could he possibly have used as an excuse for that maneuver??

Glad your buddy is okay. I've seen that scenario in reverse many times as of late.

What do you mean by that?

Kid was 18. Ran because he said he was scared that a big guy on a bike was chasing him, which was total B.S. because I had to turn around to even chase him. He well into running when I started chasing him. The smoke pouring out the back of his crappy truck (not diesel smoke) gave him away, plus me being on a bike him easy to catch.

Around here many motorcyclists have zero respect for anyone one the road. Riding the dashed lines through cars in traffic...riding the shoulder through toll lanes to avoid paying. I had !@#$% rider try stop in front of me on the hwy in a 70 MPH zone, because he thought I had "wronged" him when I changed lanes, even though I was at least 8 car lengths in front of him. He went out of his way to get around in front of me and then turn around a yell and make ugly faces. Then he ran off like a little B when I didn't back down. This was a middle aged guy on a Harley.

I used to have respect for two wheelers, but no more...

What I mean is I've seen many bike riders do exactly what the kid did, as far as cutting across lanes. Most of the time during rush hour traffic and at least 20 mph faster than everyone else. I'm glad your buddy is fine, and the kid shouldn't have ran no matter what.

That is crazy. I am a very defensive drive when on my harley. I know people don't give a crap about people on bikes that is why I am on the constant watch when riding.

Most guys on bikes are pretty respectful when they ride, of course there are tons of idiots that cut through traffic between lines. Cutting traffic or any of that other stuff is idiotic on a bike, you won't win with a car or truck. The road where this happened is an extremely busy road where no one should cut all the way across no matter what they are riding or driving. I am with Justin though and I ride very defensive around this town. there are alot of crazy drivers in this town, more than most usual towns. We have lots of young Soldiers that have been on multiple deployments overseas that come home and spend all their money on bikes and cars, although the guy that did this was a civilian.
I don't blame you guys though that get pissed when bikers do stupid stuff, it burns my ass probably more than non-riders because it makes us all look bad.

You read it correct, SEVEN lanes. You seriously have to see the spot to believe anyone would even attempt this maneuver. I bet that 90% of drivers / riders don't even look across the other side of the highway when they pull out in traffic. I ride very defensively and so does my buddy, neither one of us saw him, he was flying.
